Happy New Year friends! As we ease into 2023 it’s always fun to take a look back and assess the highs and lows of the previous year. As a wedding photographer with TLG Photography, I have had the pleasure of working with countless couples over the years and capturing their special day through my lens. It’s always exciting to see the latest trends in the wedding industry and how they evolve over time.
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the top 10 trends that dominated the wedding scene in 2022:
Virtual and hybrid weddings: With the rise in smaller ceremonies, many couples have also been opting for virtual or hybrid weddings, where some guests are able to attend in person while others join via video call.

Personalized touches: One trend that has remained consistent over the years is the desire for personalized weddings. From custom invitations and favours to unique ceremony and reception decor, couples are looking for ways to make their big day truly their own.
Sustainable weddings: With a focus on sustainability becoming more important to many couples, eco-friendly weddings are on the rise. From using locally-sourced and seasonal flowers to choosing vendors with environmentally-conscious practices, there are so many ways to make your wedding more sustainable.
Food and drink: Gone are the days of traditional sit-down dinners. Instead, couples are opting for more casual and interactive food and drink options, such as food trucks, build-your-own cocktail bars, and family-style dinners.

From posed shots to candid, photojournalistic coverage, couples are looking for photographers and videographers who can tell their unique love story through their lens.
As you can see, 2022 has brought about a lot of change and flexibility in the world of weddings. From smaller, more intimate gatherings to non-traditional venues and attire, couples are finding new and creative ways to celebrate their love.
